I am thrilled to have played a role in the Fourth edition of the 4th Arab Science Journalism Forum, a distinguished event organized by the American University of Cairo in collaboration with UNESCO, where I had the honor of serving as a Keynote speaker. During my presentation, I took the opportunity to shed light on the invaluable experiences of women in science journalistm, mainly focusing on their contributions and challenges at COP28.
The forum provided a unique platform to engage with the audience, sharing insights and fostering discussions on the role of women in science journalism.
Following my session, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in the diverse perspectives of my fellow science journalists during their interventions. Their stories resonated deeply with me. The reminiscence of my mother’s decision to leave the journalism field to prioritize caring for me added a personal touch to the discussions.
The challenges journalists face, both professionally and personally, underscore the importance of their work in bringing stories to light. It is a testament to the resilience and passion that drive female science journalists to contribute meaningfully to the field despite its inherent difficulties.

I had the opportunity to organize a panel discussion during the 3rd edition of the Arab Forum of Science Media and Communication, which took place at Sharjah University. The panel focused on the role of media and the importance of health communication in raising awareness about health issues.
Attending the World Federation of Science Journalists Annual Conference was a truly memorable experience. The event, held in Medellin, Colombia, was an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow science journalists and share ideas and perspectives on the challenges faced by our profession.
One of the conference’s highlights was the panel I participated in with my colleagues from Colombia and Brazil. It was a privilege to share the stage with them and discuss our experiences as science journalists in different parts of the world. The panel provided an invaluable platform to shed light on the unique challenges and opportunities that arise in science journalism across the globe.
This year, covering COP27 for my media, « Madha Yahduth, » and several African radios was an incredible opportunity. I never expected it to be such a chance for daily networking and meeting with politicians, policymakers, and civil society leaders. It was surreal to be on the same bus as the ex-Australian Minister of Defense or to interview African Ministers.
I am glad to announce that I am a member of the « Top 500 Scientists AD Scientific Index 2022″ in Tunisia.
Among the 22 scientists in the field of social sciences, I represent the field of journalism and communication.
