On Saturday, April 17, 2021, the curtain fell on the training programme on science journalism, whose detailed program I have developed within the framework of Yemeni Humanitarian Journalism Foundation’s activities, targeting 12 Arab journalists (Morocco, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan and Algeria).
أسدل الستار يوم السبت 17 أبريل 2021 على الدورة التدريبية حول الصحافة العلمية الذي قمت بوضع برنامجها التفصيلي في إطار نشاطات مؤسسة الصحافة الإنسانيّة اليمنيّة، والذي يستهدف 12 صحفي وصحفية من دول الوطن العربي (المغرب والعراق ومصر والأردن ولبنان والسعودية واليمن والسودان والجزائر).
This training programme has been launched on March 13, 2021, by an introduction to science journalism. The five sessions later dealt with the sources of information for scientific newspapers from scientific websites and magazines, the forms of scientific journalistic production, the promotion of a scientific journalistic production by using the most important applications and fnally ethics of the profession for a scientific journalist.
During the third session, we have also received our colleague Hajar Hassan (Editor-in-Chief of « Réalité Online » to talk about her experience with the science journalism, especially after obtaining the Journalism Excellence Award about covering issues related to environmental diversity. During the fourth session, we received also the researcher and expert in solid waste management and circular economy, Dr. Wassim. Chaabane (a Tunisian academic residing in Germany) on the importance of the circular economy in this era, as well as the dangers of environmental and water pollution and the role of the press and the media in reducing these risks.
After this first experience in the Arab world, we seek to develop the content of this first training course in cooperation with Arab colleagues in order to train a number of journalists in this field, and this is within the framework of an Arab project that we will announce soon.
Science journalism is the future in light of the health and climate crises we are going through and technological developments … and the media landscape is in great need of scientific journalists.
وانطلقت هذه الدورة التدريبيّة يوم 13 مارش 2021بمدخل للصحافة العلميّة. فيما تناولت الخمس حصص الموالية مصادر المعلومات بالنسبة للصحف العلمي من مواقع ومجلات علمية، أشكال الإنتاج الصحفيّ العلميّ، الترويج لخبر صحفي علمي عبر استعمال التطبيقات الأساسيّة وأخلاقيات المهنة بالنسبة للصحفي العلميّ.
كما استقبلنا خلال الحصة الثالثة الزميلة هاجر حسن (رئيسة تحرير جريدة Réalité أونلاين للحديث عن تجربتها مع الصحافة العلمية لاسيّما في إطار حصولها على جائزة التميز الصحفي حول تغطية مواضيع متعلقة بالتنوع البيئي. فيما استقبلنا خلال الحصة الرابعة الباحث والخبير في إدارة النفايات الصلبة والاقتصاد الدائري الدكتور وسيم شعبان (أكاديمي تونسي مقيم في ألمانيا) عن أهمية الاقتصاد الدائري في هذا العصر وكذلك مخاطر التلوث البيئي والمائي ودور الصحافة والإعلام في الحد من هذه المخاطر.
وعقب هذه التجربة الأولى بالعالم العربي، سوف نسعى لاحقا إلى تطوير محتوى هذه الدورة التدريبية الأولى بالتعاون مع زملاء عرب من أجل تكوين عدد من الصحفيين في هذا المجال، وهذا في إطار مشروع عربيّ سوف نعلن عنه قريبا.
الصحافة العلمية هي المستقبل في ظلّ ما نمرّ به من أزمات صحيّة ومناخية وتطورات تكنولوجية.. والساحة الإعلامية في حاجة كبرى إلى صحفيين علميين.
